The washing process begins by squeezing, with the liquid distributed regularly and gently by means of the apertured disc. A valve prevents the liquid from running back and it flows off to the side through the small escape pipe. This device is an essential accident aid for laboratories and everywhere where substances hazardous to the eyes are worked with. Boiled water is suitable for use as wash liquid; it should be replaced frequently.
